Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport Art Program

The Nasher Sculpture Garden

This site provides a comprehensive view of images of artworks from the permanent collection of the Nasher Sculpture Garden and Center, which contains works of sculpture from the Early Modern period up to contemporary times. Each image of an artwork is accompanied by a detailed description, and many include a photograph of the artist. Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University

Pioneer Plaza

This site provides information about the Dallas Convention Center, including Pioneer Plaza, which is downtown’s largest public open space, located in front of the Convention Center. There are also small images of the 40 bronze Longhorn cattle herded by 3 bronze cowboys on horses, created for the Plaza by artist Robert Summers. The site also provides images of the facility, a schedule of events, and general tourist information.
Kimbell Art Museum

This site provides general information on the permanent collection of art, which extends from the period of antiquity to the 20th century and includes a substantial collection of Asian and European art. Information can be found on special exhibitions, as well as public programs, and on the history of the award winning building designed by architect Louis I. Kahn. Online visitors can take a virtual tour of the permanent collection and can see numerous photos of the building and grounds. This site provides a selection of works of art that can be viewed online from the collection of Amon G. Carter Sr., a Fort Worth publisher and philanthropist. The works include a huge collection of western art, works by 19th and 20th century artists, and historic photos. The Texas Bird’s Eye View link allows online visitors to zoom in on individual Bird’s-eye view maps of various parts of Texas from different periods in history.

There is an online slide show of the building and grounds, which were designed by the Japanese architect Tadao Ando. The slideshow also displays an image of an outdoor sculpture by Richard Serra.
