About the Author
Maria Jerskey
Maria Jerskey is the Writing Center Director for Baruch College of the City University of New York. Prior to directing the Writing Center at Baruch, Maria taught writing at New York University and Hunter College and served as a freelance writer and editor. She received her M.A. from Hunter College in 1995, where she studied rhetoric under Ann Raimes. She received her Ph.D. in English Education from New York University in 2006; her dissertation focused on writing handbooks, English language learners, and the selective tradition.
